Here you will find frequently asked questions about Rekon and it's products. We do our best to ensure that customer satisfaction is met, and exceeded by helping you better understand us.

What Do I Need To Run Your Program?

Confirm with your I/S department that you have:

  • Microsoft SQL Server software available on your system
  • Workstations running Microsoft Windows98 or Windows 2000 or Windows XP

We can discuss other technical requirements with your I/S specialists by telephone. Such requirements are in the nature of various settings, and confirming the capacity of the hardware to handle your expected work load.

Can Your Software Handle The Volume In Our Company?

Our software is used at the largest loan servicing installations in the industry.

How Much Training Do We Need?

For a staff that is already doing the work of releasing paid-off loans, Rekon is intuitive enough that very little training is required. We can usually get you and your staff up within a 3-5 day period with one or two trainers on site. If you are setting up a new servicing site, we can expand training as necessary to establish the department from the ground up. Rekon is not a software that requires constant training support and regular training updates for continued use.

How Does Rekon Work With Other Applications?

Rekon can be set up to “talk” to virtually any other software. Most of our clients have an interface with the main servicing system, to download payoff data. Other typical interfaces include access to imaging systems and passing data to other systems, such as tracking systems or outsourcers.

How Do We Get Software Support?

We have a competent software support staff. Their hours are 7:30 am to 5:00 pm Pacific Time. It is usually possible to get help immediately by calling our support number. For support after hours, our answering service will contact on-call staff who will call you back within a short time. We have that support 24x7. We get very few calls we can’t handle quickly.

How Do You Keep Up With Changing County Requirements?

We constantly update the software to align with latest requirements. We get our data from a combination of sources, including our own research, our contacts with County Recorders (we belong to PRIA, the County Recorders Association), and our clients, who report to us notification slips from the counties.

How Do You Update Our System With Your Changes?

We send updates whenever we accumulate enough changes to make it necessary; about every 60 days on the average. We send the updates to your I/S people for testing, and we assist in updating your system so the changes are made successfully.

Does Rekon Increase The Efficiency Of Our Operation?

Yes it does. One of our clients reported to us recently that simply upgrading from our older version to Rekon saved her two FTEs and the addition of one of our time-saving modules (the Check-Writing Module) saved another one and a half FTEs. When we replace pre-Rekon systems, we usually are able to salvage several FTEs depending on the size of your operation, thereby freeing up your resources for other critical areas on your company.

Does Rekon Support Electronic Recording?

Rekon does support electronic recording. We’re partnered with other eRecording companies, (see our partners page) and we are members of MISMO (Mortgage Industry Standards Maintenance Organization) and the E-Mortgage Alliance (eMA). We are committed to carrying you into the E-recording world as fast as possible. Electronic recording will enormously reduce the complexity of the recording process as it matures. Recording will be more efficient, require less work, happen faster, and give immediate security to the borrower and the servicer.

Yes But Do You Really Do Electronic Recording?

Yes. To see what counties we presently support for electronic recording, click here.

What Is The Rejection Rate Once We’re Up On Rekon?

This depends on the nature of your portfolio, but a typical number is around 5%. The bulk of these will be from fees, which change rapidly without prior notice.
