American Release Corp Signs with ACS for Electronic Recording of Lien Releases
With the Rekon-ACS eRecording interface, ARC will be able to electronically submit lien releases for recording at county recorders' offices.
Pasadena, CA - June 27, 2005 - Rekon Technologies, a software provider of lien
release and reconveyance processing software, announced today that its sister
company, American Release Corporation, (ARC), a nationwide outsource company
for preparing lien releases and reconveyances, has signed an agreement with
Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., (ACS), a premier provider of business
process and information technology solutions, to electronically record lien
releases using the Rekon system.
"Electronic recording is the future in our industry," explains Larry Roberts,
President of American Release Corporation. "Eliminating paper means more than
just reducing paperwork," says Roberts, "it means reducing or eliminating fat
files that are expensive to store and ship; it means reducing or eliminating
the slow response time in recording paper documents, waiting for them to come
back in the mail, or being blind-sided by a rejection, weeks after the lien
release or reconveyance was mailed to the recorder. With electronic recording,
we will know within hours whether or not the lien release was accepted,
therefore reducing turn around times from weeks to days, even hours."
As an established outsource company for many major mortgage loan servicers,
American Release Corporation houses a large staff of professionals to handle
any function in the processing of a lien release or reconveyance. Due to the
unpredictable nature of the mortgage loan industry with the rise and fall of
interest rates, refinancing booms can create a burden for many loan servicers
who need additional support in the management of their lien release operation
when pay-off volumes exceed their operational threshold. Utilizing the Rekon
system, American Release Corporation provides a low-cost alternative for the
preparation of lien release and assignments.
"We are pleased that ARC has chosen ACS to electronically submit lien release
documents for electronic recording," says Paula Steger, Director of eRecording
for ACS. The ACS electronic recordation process transforms the costly and
time-consuming paper process of recording land records into a secure,
economical, automated online transaction. The end-to-end process, from creating
and signing documents, to delivery and recording of documents, can now be
accomplished at Internet speed."
"The beauty of the ACS-Rekon eRecording interface is that it provides many
reconveyance departments, like ARC's, the ability to electronically submit
documents efficiently and securely, while maintaining their existing lien
release paper process," says Aurora Marsh, Executive Vice President of Rekon
Technologies. The Rekon software is designed to improve efficiencies for lien
release departments nationwide. With the ACS interface, the Rekon system
provides a seamless solution to the management and processing of lien releases
and reconveyances. This allows a department to streamline its operation by
spending less time managing software systems and spending more time focusing on
its customers. Because the Rekon system integrates with ACS' electronic
recordation exchange, Rekon users simply submit the documents electronically if
the county is eRecording enabled, or submit the document conventionally as a
paper release, all from one system. There is no additional training curve to
retrain an entire department for the purpose of eRecording."
